![]() In contrast, my main gaming rig (Ryzen 7 3700X, 32GB RAM, and Radeon Vega 64) gave much smoother gameplay. With all settings cranked up to Epic, my aging graphics card still managed 59 fps at 1080p, with 1% lows at 50 fps. When I jumped up to 3440x1440 resolution with Epic settings I wasn’t able to break past 40 fps, though dialing down to High settings yielded a much better 53 fps average. I found actual gameplay to run a few fps lower than these numbers but even in heavy combat I didn’t encounter any stuttering. You have to admire Counterplay games for setting a realistic minimum to achieve smooth gameplay instead of hiding behind a "it still plays" response when players start to complain if they set the specs lower. I would wager that with the increased power of the PlayStation 5 closing the gap between console and PC performance this won’t be the last game to target the mid and high tier gaming PC markets. I know what you’re worried about (or hoping for) and no, it doesn’t have the same graphic style as the Borderlands series. ![]() C ounterplay Games has gone for a more realistic visual look with Godfall, and I love it. 3440X1440P GODFALL BACKGROUNDS FULLĮach area, or Realm, has its own color palette and aesthetic, but they are all vibrant, living areas full of rich details. In the tutorial you must search out the Sunforge Temple and defeat the Guardian. After just a few seconds it's easy to see why it’s so named, with the whole temple engulfed in a gold hue. Everywhere I looked the overpowering sunlight saturated the area. Everything was so bright it almost hurt my eyes. I was beginning to think I had borked my monitor settings. Once I completed my mission and made my way to the Seventh Sanctum, and then on to my first real mission, I realized that was the intended effect. Who said the itch? Yes I definitely have the upgrade itch. The first area past the tutorial - the Earth Realm - replaces the gaudy look of the Sunforge Temple with a more natural, yet still vibrant, rocky forested area. ![]() Who said the itch? Yes I definitely have the upgrade itch. Shooter and multiplayer games I'm serious about I like to be 100-165 fps but for eye candy single player games I don't really care as long as it's over 60. Very low $/hr or gaming evened out over the year.ĭLSS is cool but no reason to stay nvidia. I have been flipping GPUs to upgrade for years now and it works well for me. And next gen is a year away and will be sold out instantly yada yada we know how that goes. Money is not a big issue for me but practicality is). Faster than 3090 and fraction of the price (I'd never get a 3090 for the insanity of cost on those. I have been tracking this on a spreadsheet and an OC 6900xt is actually be best FPS/$ on the market right now. I'm pretty tempted to do it because I can get a Red Devil 6900XT for $1500 USD, NIB w/ free Far Cry 6 free Resident Evil and free Xbox game pass, and the net cost is only probably $300 because I can easily flip the 3070ti on ebay. I would recommend a Sapphire over them even at a price premium. Not a huge fan of powercolor did 3 builds with red devil cards they all failed (5700XT) Faulty DPs. I wouldn't be overly worried about Driver issues amd has gotten much better with that since they botched the 5700XT launch it that's all that's holding you back. I still expect tons of rdna 2/ampere owners to dump their cards next gen. ![]() I don't personally expect Ampere or RDNA 2 to age well I think both vendors are going to push out some crazy fast cards due to the renewed competition although the market is somewhat fing that up. If it was me I would keep the 3070ti and just wait for rdna3 and Lovelace. ![]() I guess if you play games staring at rtss then maybe it might be more worth it to you. Its really 4k where the 6800XT and 3080 series or above spread their legs beyond that it comes down to how much you like DLSS. I have both a 2080 ti and 3080 ti and except in maybe 2-3 games the difference at 1440p or lower is negligible unless using heavy RT in somthing like Cyberpunk somthing the amd gpu isn't going to do well anyways. If it's 2-300 usd out of pocket to swap it might be worth it your basically trading better RT support and better ai upscaling for probably 20-25% more rasterized performance on average. ![]()
